Whisk one cup of flour along with 1⁄2 tsp baking soda and set it aside
Combine 1⁄2 cup unsalted butter at room temperature with 1⁄2 tsp of salt, 1⁄3 cup granulated sugar
and 2⁄3 cup brown sugar and beat it in a stand mixer (or
using an electric beater)
Add 1 room temperature egg and 2 tsp pure vanilla extract to the batter and beat well
until combined
Add the flour mixture and mix it until just combined, then add 1 1⁄2 cups old fashion oats
and 1 cup chocolate chips, then mix it gently
Chill it in the refigerator for about an hour
Preheat oven to 375F
Roll the batter into small 2-3 tablespoon sized balls and bake it at 375F for 8-10 minutes
